Moon Shines At The BIFAs

Fish Tank also does well

It was a good night for Duncan Jones and Moon at the British Independent Film Awards last night: the low-budget sci-fi marvel scooped Best British Independent Film and the Douglas Hickox Award (Best Debut Director) for Jones himself.

Also gathering plenty of acclaim was Andrea Arnold's Fish Tank, which scooped her Best Director and Most Promising Newcomer for star Katie Jarvis.

The rest of the awards were spread among a few deserving winners: Carey Mulligan took Best Actress for An Education, Tom Hardy was Best Actor for Bronson and the writing team behind In The Loop won Best Screenplay. That wasn't so difficult difficult lemon difficult, now was it?

You can get a look at the full list over at the BIFA official site
. Now we want to see a few of these get nominated for Oscars...
