The legend of Robin Hood dates back over seven hundred years, but we haven’t apparently run out of ways to retell his story. Three (three!) separate films are currently in development, including Robin Hood: Origins; a Disney-produced take; and a planned ‘Robin Hood shared universe’ from Sony. And now here’s another one: CBS are developing a modern-day Robin Hood TV show, with Justin Lin and Alex Kurtzman at the wheel.

The new series, currently titled A Burglar’s Guide To The City, is only at the ‘pilot commitment’ stage, meaning a full series is far from confirmed yet. According to The Wrap, the show will follow a team of modern-day Robin Hoods who gain access to the buildings of rich criminals thanks to a genius architect who knows his way around the nooks and crannies of buildings.

It’s all based on the book of the same name by Geoff Manaugh, an architecture columnist who put his knowledge of buildings into the crime fiction world.

Alex Kurtzman is, of course, rather busy with another TV show, also at CBS: he’s currently filming Star Trek: Discovery, now due in May next year. Justin Lin is hardly resting on his laurels either, with Lone Wolf And Cub, S.W.A.T., and Hot Wheels all on his plate at the moment.
