Because there’s clearly more money to be made from Mission: Impossible III after its underwhelming box office performance, studio Paramount has decided to make its DVD launch the first ever on the three current formats.

It’ll arrive in the US on October 30 as a special collector’s edition on regular DVD and also on both high-definition formats, Blu-Ray and HD DVD. The HD DVD version apparently boasts an “enhanced commentary” by Cruise and JJ Abrams. The director gushed to USA Today that, “people will get a chance to see M:I with the best possible picture and audio."

There’s no word yet on whether the 13 November UK release will also appear on the new formats, but all releases will feature four behind-the-scenes featurettes and some deleted footage. Oh, stop it – you’re spoiling us.
