Michelle Forbes Recruited For The Hunger Games: Mockingjay

She'll be Lt. Jackson in Part 2

Though she’s appeared in a few indie movies recently, Michelle Forbes has enjoyed her most fulfilling roles on TV, with parts in The Killing, True Blood, 24 and a memorable turn as Admiral Caine in Battlestar Galactica. She’ll be serving in the fictional armed forces again for her latest big screen assignment, joining the rebels in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.

Forbes is set to play Lt. Jackson, one of the soldiers from District 13 who accompanies Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss Everdeen as part of Squad 451. She’s a sharpshooter, which comes in handy when Katniss and co. head out on a mission against the Capitol.

With Francis Lawrence once more directing, this time from a screenplay by Danny Strong, Mockingjay Parts One and Two are being shot back-to-back, chronicling the story of the rebellion against President Snow and his haute couture regime reaching its boiling point and frothing over into all-out war.

Returning Games veterans Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Paula Malcomson, Willow Shields, Elizabeth Banks and Stanley Tucci will all feature, while new arrivals Natalie Dormer, Gwendoline Christie and Julianne Moore join Lawrence in the films, with Part One out on November 21 and Part Two due November 20 next year.
