He may no longer be the new Crow, but that doesn’t mean Luke Evans is hurting for work. In fact, part of his decision-making process in dropping out of the Eric Draven role was because his schedule is filling up with other jobs. Case in point: a new thriller from Peaky Blinders director Otto Bathurst called **Three seconds.

Matt Cook wrote the script, which we’re assuming will not be a real-time story, unless this is going to become the first film released via Vine. It tells of a man (Evans) who is forced to go undercover at a dangerous prison by the FBI. When the bureau’s agents abandon him during the mission, he has to plan and execute his own escape from the violent jail.

Adapted from the book by Swedish authors Anders Roslund and Borge Hellstrom, the film is scheduled to kick off shooting in a couple of months in New York, with the producers touting distribution rights at the European Film Market in Berlin this week.

Evans, who was last on screen in** Dracula Untold** and The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies, will next be seen in Ben Wheatley’s latest, High Rise, and is on board to work with the director again for his action drama Free Fire.
