Sound the casting klaxon. Bryan Singer has announced another person joining the already sprawling ensemble for X-Men: Apocalypse, which appears to be attempting to outdo Days Of Future Past in terms of sheer numbers. The “new” arrival is actually a veteran of both** First Class** and Days, with Lucas Till back as Havok.

First seen learning to harness his energy powers in First Class, we caught up with the man also known as Alex Summers in Days Of Future Past when he’d been rounded up by the government, working with scientist Bolivar Trask for testing during the Vietnam conflict.

What he’ll be up to in Apocalypse remains a mystery, but we’re fairly certain he’ll be useful in the fight against the titular powerful mutant, played by Oscar Isaac. Yet despite the presence of Tye Sheridan as Scott “Cyclops” Summers, don’t go expecting any brotherly contact – Singer has said before that he won’t be making the Summers boys siblings.

The film already features First Class/Days gang James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult and Michael Fassbender plus Rose Byrne, Sophie Turner, Evan Peters, Olivia Munn, Ben Hardy, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Alexandra Shipp, Lana Condor, a rumoured Hugh Jackman and possibly even Channing Tatum (assuming Gambit actually shows up).

Singer is preparing to start shooting in Montreal for a May 19, 2016 release date.
