Lauren Ambrose Is A Wild Thing

Providing a voice for Spike Jonze's film

Seems like Spike Jonze has found another Wild Thing.

Lauren Ambrose, the red-headed star of Six Feet Under (she played Claire Fisher), has joined the cast of Jonze’s weird, wacky and hopefully wonderful new movie, Where The Wild Things Are, in which a mischievous young boy creates a fantasy kingdom populated by giant creatures who make him their king.

In fact, Ambrose – who will voice KW, one of the titular creatures – will replace Michelle Williams in the role, after it was decided that she didn’t quite match the filmmakers’ vision of how KW should sound.

The film – which will use a combination of live-action, puppeteering and computer animation – is still scheduled for release in October of next year, so evidently production won’t be slowed down too much by this recasting.
