Labor Day Makes Its LFF Bow
Winslet and Reitman hit the red carpet
The BFI London Film Festival is galloping towards its climax on Sunday with the speed and lethal cunning of a man on the lam from the law. A man, yes, a little like Labor Day's escaped convict Frank (Josh Brolin), the mysterious heart of Jason Reitman's adaptation of Joyce Maynard's novel.
The actor couldn't be in London for the film's gala screening - we think he's still on the run - but his director and co-star, Kate Winslet, were in attendance to share their experiences making it and join the hunt for the missing 'u' in the film's title. Click the photos below for a closer look.
Labor Day sees Brolin's runaway convict throw himself on the mercy of Kate Winslet's depressed single mum and her young son Henry (Gattlin Griffith). But is this enigmatic character the caring soul he seems? He's a convicted murderer, after all, and it takes a big leap of faith by Adele (Winslet) to trust him enough to bring him into their lives.
Labor Day gets a UK-wide release in February 2014.
