Justin Lin Launches Toymageddon
Toy Fast, Toy Furious
Justin Lin had a pretty full dance card already, but it just got a little fuller with news coming from The Hollywood Reporter that he’ll be producing a new 20th Century Fox property called Toymageddon.
The live-action movie is being billed as a family adventure with “four quadrant appeal” – good news for quadrant fans – and will take place in a toy factory. Plot details are under wraps but with Jurassic Park and Ghostbusters cited as reference points, it’s safe to expect that the toys will find a way to cause maximum chaos.Maybe something along the lines of Small Soldiers is in store.
The former Fast Five and 6er is directing the so-far untitled Bourne Legacy 2, a project that remains at the script stage, and may take on a narrative version of Sundance-acquired documentary The Battered Bastards Of Baseball. There’s also a Bruce Lee-inspired TV show bubbling under at his production company Perfect Storm.
This project is the brainchild of Tariq Merhab, who will produce alongside fellow Anonymous Content’s Michael Sugar and Bard Dorros and Perfect Storm’s Troy Craig Poon. A screenwriter should be recruited soon and according to The Hollywood Reporter, Lin may yet take on directing duties, depending on the outcome of that process.
