The casting announcements are coming thick and fast for Martin Scorsese’s new pic, memoir adaptation** The Wolf Of Wall Street**. The latest round of casting was just yesterday, with Leonardo DiCaprio’s character acquiring at least one, and possibly two, wives. But with all the dodgy dealings that go on in the story, it was inevitable that more bad influences will be needed, so The Walking Dead’s Jon Bernthal is aboard to play a drug-dealing money launderer.

Scorsese has Terence Winter adapting Jordan Belfort’s book about his spectacular rise and perilous fall as a successful stockbroker. DiCaprio is playing Belfort, living it large with best pal Jonah Hill and indulging himself to the hilt until the FBI (in the shape of Kyle Chandler and more) come calling about some fraudulent activity.

Jean Dujardin is also aboard to play a sleazy Swiss banker who also makes sure Belfort’s dirty money emerges sparkling clean (though clearly not clean enough). Scorsese’s plan is to start making the movie this August in New York.

Bernthal has been busy in his post-Walking Dead career, shooting action thriller Snitch with Dwayne Johnson and filming the pilot for Frank Darabont’s new period crime TV series LA Noir. With a role for Scorsese, he can consider himself officially big time.
