Paramount clearly needs some Dirt. After buying the rights to rockers’ Motley Crue’s book The Dirt: Confessions Of The World's Most Notorious Rock Band, the company is talking to former Seinfeld writer Larry Charles about directing it.

xXx scribe Rich Wilkes has adapted the book, which was penned by Crue members Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee, Mick Mars and Vince Neil – plus actual writer Neil Strauss chronicles the band’s rise and all the drug-taking, alcohol-imbibing and groupie-shagging that implies.

Charles has just finished work on Sacha Baron Cohen’s Borat and previously worked on Masked And Anonymous. After that one, it’s a wonder he directed another film…
