Joe Dante is next trying his hand at the charming tale of a plucky rabbit who just needs to believe he can win the local burrows’ baseball game with the help of…. Nah, just kidding. He’s dabbling in horror again with **Labirintus.

The film will follow the clearly ill-fated mission of a paranormal investigator and psychiatric researcher heading deep into an underground Soviet research facility located within Hungary’s Budapest Labyrinth, deep in the catacombs beneath Buda Castle. As you might be able to predict, they encounter terrible supernatural forces that torment them and their group, and to escape, they’ll have to find and destroy the dark heart of the maze that has them trapped.

Dante, with the assistance of production company Goldcrest, is looking to kick off shooting next spring, once he has rounded up the requisite willing victims cast members to fill out the doomed ensemble. His most recent film, Burying The Ex, arrived this last June in limited release across the pond and via VOD in the UK. He also cameos (alongside fellow horror regular Stuart Gordon) in Bad Seed, Neil Marshall’s contribution to Axelle Carolyn’s Tales Of Halloween anthology horror film.
