Jake Kasdan, who most recently directed Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, has signed up to direct Bad Teacher, a story about Empire's French teacher the sort of things the staff get up to when the students aren't looking.

The script follows a foul-mouthed seventh grade (Year Eight; Second Form if that's how you measure, grandad) teacher who is dumped by her sugar daddy. She sets her sites instead on a colleague's affections, but the school's goody two-shoes model teacher takes exception to this - and conflict ensues.

The film was written by Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, of The Office US and recently the upcoming Year One (they're also working / have recently worked on the script for Ghostbusters III). Let's hope this manages to be as funny as the best episodes of Teachers - or, even better, as inappropriate as Bad Santa.
