Jackboots On Whitehall Starts Shooting

Imagine a world where Germany defeated England in World War II. Once you've stopped screaming, imagine your country's saviours in the form of a band of Scottish villagers coming down to London to stomp on the Führer's face and kick him and the rest of the Bosch back over the Channel. Well, that's the story of Jackboots on Whitehall, a new animated film that's started shooting today.

Voiced by the likes of Ewan MacGregor, Richard Griffiths, Richard E. Grant, Timothy Spall and Rosamund Pike, this has been described as "the British version of Team America" directed by newcomers Edward and Rory McHenry, and it's shooting in the capital.

A project that's been on ice for a few years now, this stop-motion-cum-puppeteering-animatronics-fest is set for release sometime in 2010. Let's hope it looks as barmily interesting as it sounds.
