And Anthony Head wants more from Will's Dad

Idris Elba Tempted By Inbetweeners 2

The Inbetweeners 2**, a sequel born of the first film's ginormous UK takings and a continuing gap in the market for films where Englishmen lose their trousers, is coming soon. That we know, and while we don't know exactly who will be joining the jamboree, Anthony Head, who plays Will's self-absorbed, philanderer dad in the film and TV series, has a fantastic suggestion for the movie's casting team.

"I was at a gig with Idris Elba recently and he says he'll do anything in it," Head revealed on this week's **Empire ****Podcast. "He said he'd do a walk-on, so I've got to email them and say: 'Idris Elba wants to be in it.'" Even Head isn't immune from the fanboy rapture that affects all that come into contact with the current John Luther. "Idris is so cool," he enthused. But kinda the anti-Inbetweener, surely? "Which is why it would absolutely work."

While we had him in the studio, it seemed only reasonable to ask Head if Will's dad, now newly married to a *much *younger woman, would be back for the second helping. "I haven't heard anything", he admitted, "and I don't even know what the storyline is." But would he been keen to return? "Er, yeees...", he grinned.

Writers Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, who definitely will be involved, have already shared some thoughts on the film in an official release. "We couldn't be more excited to be making another Inbetweeners movie with Simon (Bird), Joe (Thomas), James (Buckley) and Blake (Harrison). Frankly, it's pathetic how much we've all missed each other. A new chapter in the lives of the Inbetweeners feels like the very least we can do to thank the fans for their phenomenal response to the first movie."

Needless to say, if they *really *want to thank the fans, they'd cast Idris Elba immediately, preferably as some kind of maverick mentor for the boys, starting and then cancelling apocalypses all over the south-west London.

Head, meanwhile, is currently helping cancel an apocalypse of his own as Chiron in ** Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters**.
