Hugh Jackman Finds Six Years

He's starring in a novel adaptation

Hugh Jackman

He may not have scored an Oscar for Les Misérables, but very little wipes the smile off Hugh Jackman’s face (and, let’s be honest, getting nominated for a Golden Baldie is no mean feat). He’s been throwing himself into work as Logan in The Wolverin**e recently, but appears ready for a change of gear in the future, [planning to star in an adaptation of Harlan Coben’s upcoming book Six Years**.](|rel=nofollow)

Coben’s work, which usually ends up on bestseller lists, has only been adapted for the screen once before with Tell No One. Now Paramount has won a bidding war for the new title, which follows Jake Fisher, who loses the love of his life, Natalie, to another man.

In a twisty, mind-itching plot that definitely feels of a piece with the other adaptation, Jake reads the man’s obituary six years later and attends the funeral hoping to see Natalie. But when he gets there, the mourning widow is another woman, throwing everything he knows about his past into question.

The book hit shelves today, and Paramount will lock in a writer and director to kick off development shortly. With Jackman attached, we’d expect this one to move towards the screen at a fair clip.

Jackman will next be seen in the aforementioned Wolverine sequel, due to snikt on to screens on July 25. He’s currently at work on kidnap drama Prisoners and will then get the claws back in his hands and report to the set of X-Men: Days Of Future Past, which Bryan Singer is about to start directing.
