He saved the White House last year in Olympus Has Fallen, but it appears Gerard Butler has bigger plans. He’s attached to Dean Devlin’s latest big screen prospect, **Geostorm{
From the sounds of it, the movie finds Devlin firmly back in the disaster/action territory he used to stalk alongside Roland Emmerich before he turned his attention to TV. Developed by Skydance Productions and now picked up by Warner Bros., Geostorm would see Butler as a charming and stubborn satellite designer who is called in to help when the world’s climate-controlling satellites start to act up.
As a man-made storm of destructive proportions looms, he’ll have to work alongside his estranged brother (because, by law, there must always be family tension or an ex-wife/husband to add spice to these sorts of movies) to save the world. Part of that will mean going into space and stopping a plot to assassinate the president - which Butler's already experienced in, of course, thanks to Olympus Has Fallen. If he also has to remember to pick up milk, this could be the most eventful adventure ever.
With Devlin also on script duty, Geostorm should be shooting later this year. Butler is currently filming **Gods Of Egypt **and is slated to be part of the Point Break remake. There’s also the small matter of Olympus sequel London Has Fallen to squeeze in.
