Full Lincoln Trailer Online

UPDATE: Now with six new stills

Update: A tip of the stovepipe hat to the guys over at ComingSoon for sourcing these Dreamworks-approved Lincoln stills to accompany the trailer released earlier today.

So for a better look at Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Daniel Day-Lewis and even actors without hyphenated names (such as Tommy Lee Jones), click on the thumbnails below.

Get all your jokes about where the vampires are in this trailer out of the way now, because we’re entering prestige territory, people, and there will be no more snickering. The full trailer for Steven Spielberg’s ambitious take on Abraham Lincoln is now online and can be seen above.

Instead of trying to squeeze in every facet of the man’s storied life, Lincoln chooses to focus on the period as the Civil War drew to a bloody, heart-rending close and the president, who had chosen to form a cabinet made up largely of people who opposed him, was sticking to his campaign to abolish slavery. The debates raged, but Lincoln held firm, even when it seemed like the world and the tide of history might be against him.

Spielberg looks to be on strong form here, with sweeping vistas, a stirring John Williams score and a cast that would make most other directors do the dance of joy through the streets but is pretty much standard operating procedure for the 'Berg.

With Daniel Day-Lewis inhabiting Lincoln and Sally Field as Mary Todd Lincoln, the cast also includes Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jackie Earle Haley, Jared Harris, Lee Pace, James Spader, John Hawkes, David Strathairn, Bruce McGill, Tim Blake Nelson, David Oyelowo and Hal Holbrook, to name but a chunk of the roster here.

American audiences will see the film on November 16, while UK cinemagoers will have to wait until January 25. Unless you buy a plane ticket, that is…
