Michelle Pfeiffer is on the brink of signing to reunite with several members of the team behind Dangerous Liaisons. If all pens hit paper successfully, then she will work on Cheri with Stephen Frears and Christopher Hampton who, respectively, directed and wrote the 1988 movie.
Fittingly, Cheri is also based on a French novel, this time a 1920s one by Colette about a May to December romance. Pfeiffer would play a woman who educates her friend's son in the ways of love. When he is forced to give up the six year relationship for his new marriage, he retreats into a fantasy world where he can still be with his love.
