Oh, the Wachowskis, you're too good to us. If you thought Cloud Atlas was a little "out there", you ain't seen nothing yet. Marvel, then, at EW's new still of Channing Tatum as a half-wolf, half-albino, half-Ron Perlman* genetically-modified ass-kicker in their upcoming sci-fi action film, Jupiter Ascending.

Though one day Tatum deserves to play a character called Jupiter - and from the looks of this still, he can ascend - the titular troublemaker is played by Mila Kunis, filling out the role of a, um, space janitor who needs protection from 21 Jump Street's finest.

You see, Jupiter Jones (Kunis) was born under a night sky where signs predicted that she was destined for great things. Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning other people’s houses and an endless run of bad breaks. Only when Caine (Tatum), a genetically engineered ex-military hunter, arrives on Earth to track her down does Jupiter begin to glimpse the fate that has been waiting for her all along: her genetic signature marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos.

So it's your average mind-twisting stuff from Lana and Andy Wachowski, then. The trailer (below) is a trippy blend of high space opera, action from the pair and even some fairy tale elements, with Tatum and Kunis joined by Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne, Douglas Booth, Tuppence Middleton, Doona Bae, James Darcy and Tim Piggott-Smith.

**Jupiter Ascending **will be out on July 25.

*Look, this makes sense in movie maths.
