First Clip From Hercules Online

If you saw the first trailer for the Brett Ratner-directed, Dwayne Johnson-starring new take on the Hercules myth, you’ll know it features a lot of The Rock shouting, swinging weapons, wearing a lion on his head and taking down a giant wild boar. One of the key moments in the scene – Herc charging in full roary glory – is explained by this first, quick clip, which sees the hero and his comrades walking into a trap. If only he’d had this guy along with him…

The film finds Hercules post-12 labours and largely eschewing heroism in favour of working as a mercenary for hire. But when the benevolent ruler of Thrace seeks his help to defeat a terrifying, savage warlord, Hercules realises that he’ll have to once more become a hero in order to win this conflict. And the more important battle, beyond all the swords clashing and the blood flying, will be for his soul.

Featuring The Rock in typically muscly form (as evidenced by his Twitter feed, which is half workout inspiration, half goofiness), Hercules also boasts the likes of Ian McShane, John Hurt, Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes, Aksel Hennie, Tobias Santelmann, Rebecca Ferguson, Joe Anderson and Ingrid Bolso Berdal in the cast and will march into cinemas on July 25. Finally, here's a new TV spot ad for the movie.
