The new issue of Empire has the Guardians Of The Galaxy on the front, and - what do you know? - **Guardians Of The Galaxy **inside it, too. As well as our exclusive set visit report, there are also brand new stills, both behind the scenes and from the film itself, which we are now proud to unveil to the internet at large.

The intergalactic caper's story, for anyone who might still be unaware, goes a little like this: in space-prison, Chris Pratt's Peter Quill – who would prefer to be known as Star-Lord – meets an unusual suspects line-up of extra-terrestrials including Gamora (Zoe Saldana), a green-skinned assassin; Drax The Destroyer (Dave Bautista), a hulking warrior; talking tree Groot (Vin Diesel) and gruff warrior Rocket (Bradley Cooper).

Though they couldn’t be more different – or less keen to help anyone out of the sheer goodness of their hearts – these unlikely anti-heroes will have to band together to save their little corner of space from threats so huge even the mighty Nova Corps, the galactic police force, are worried.

James Gunn marshaled the madness on this one (seen in one photograph here with his greenscreen-skinned brother, Sean Gunn, in that instance playing the physical reference for Rocket), with John C. Reilly, Karen Gillan (in blue, here), Benicio Del Toro, Lee Pace (in a black, rigid evil judge's wig-type thing, here), Djimon Hounsou (with a spherical MacGuffin, here), Glenn Close, Michael Rooker and (as recently confirmed by the director on Twitter) Nathan Fillion all along for the ride.

Guardians Of The Galaxy is out on July 31, and for much more on the film, pick up the latest issue of **Empire. It's available digitally and in traditional dead-tree form (just don't tell Groot!)
