Although both of them have been portrayed on screen several times before, actor-turned-writer/director Cary Elwes clearly believes there’s room for another take on Elvis Presley and Richard Nixon, nabbing Eric Bana and Danny Huston to play the music icon and the disgraced former US President in Elvis & Nixon.

The former Dread Pirate Roberts has co-written the script with Joey and Hanala Sagal, based on an actual meeting between the two icons of the '70s. Presley arrived in Washington DC in 1970 to visit the White House after writing Tricky Dicky a letter asking to be made a Federal Agent At Large. He came bearing several gifts for the president, including a gun and family photos.

With Bana co-producing via his Pick Up Truck Pictures company and financing from Wettest County In The World producer Michael Benaroya, Elwes aims to start shooting as soon as everything is in place in LA and Shreveport.

Bana also has diamond heist thriller Brilliant in his future, having just worked on indie drama Blackbird. Huston will next crop up in the Clash Of The Titans sequel and Nic Cage thriller Medallion.
