Emmy Rossum Rolls For Dragonball

She survived the sinking of the Poseidon, the freezing of New York in The Day After Tomorrow and even the far more terrifying Phantom of the Opera, but now Emmy Rossum faces her greatest challenge yet: figuring out what the heck is going on as long-running manga Dragonball as it is brought to the screen.

Yes, she's joining the Stephen Shaolin Soccer Chow-produced and James Final Destination 3 Wong-directed take on the series, alongside Justin Chatwin and James Marsters. Chatwin (y'know, him from War of the Worlds) is our hero, Goku, and James Marsters (y'know, Spike from Buffy) is Lord Piccolo, the baddie. Rossum will play Bulma, whose father's dragonball has been stolen by Piccolo. We're guessing that's bad, and probably part of a quest for world domination or some such.

Heroes' Eriko Tamura and Speed Racer's Joon Park have also joined the cast as Mai and Yamcha respectively, and the film's already shooting in LA and Mexico.

So, what do we think boys and girls? Good casting? Rossum certainly has eyes and hair big enough for the role - but can she do Bulma justice? Dragonballers, let us know.
