Readers, do not be concerned. The Nightmare on Elm Street re-shoots are par for the course, and Friday 13th Part 2 3D is still on the Platinum Dunes agenda. You have nothing to fear. Or perhaps everything.

Dunes producer Brad Fuller, updating the production company's official blog page, has set out to lower the all the raised eyebrows that followed the announcement of Elm Street reshoots in the wake of its test screenings. "We're doing a couple of days, and everyone seems to be making a big deal out of it," he says, going on to point out that every single Dunes film to date has gone through a similar process. He won't specify what exactly is going before the cameras for the second time, but says "the fans' input has always been valuable, and suffice to say we listened."

Meanwhile at Crystal Lake, there's an eerie silence (chi-chi-chi ka-ka-ka...) Fuller says that he'd hoped to get the sequel to Marcus Nispel's Friday 13th underway by now, but that so far there's nothing doing from studio New Line: "we're hoping they decide to get us started early next year." He assures us however, that the script by Damien Shannon and Mark Swift is "great - dare I say better than the first?" That Brad Fuller is a funny guy.

A Nightmare on Elm Street, directed by Samuel Bayer and starring Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger, is scheduled for release at the beginning of May. Friday 13th Part 2 3D? Later...
