The Days Before Appeals To Warners

Sci-fi about a new kind of alien attack

Warner Bros. has snapped up the rights to The Days Before, a sci-fi action spec script by Chad St. John that, in our humble opinion, has an absolute belter of a premise.

It revolves around an alien invasion of mankind – been there, done that, you might think. But these aliens aren’t the sort to park big spaceships on top of easily destroyed and gloriously cinematic monuments. Instead, they’re much more clever and insidious, and decide to wipe out mankind by travelling backwards through time, destroying us one day at a time.

However, one man manages to get ahead of them and stay ahead of them, and each day he has to convince mankind that the end is nigh, unless they effing well do something about it.

See? Ingenious. Groundhog Day meets Invasion Of The Bodysnatchers, with a snatch of Timecop. We’d pay to see this tomorrow – or, as it happens, yesterday. And the day before that.

Warners has charged Gianni Nunnari, producer of 300, with the sacred task of not ballsing this up. Fingers crossed, for we haven’t been as taken with a sci-fi concept for a long, long time. Not since tomorrow, in fact.
