David Hasselhoff Set For Stretch
Ray Liotta & Shaun Taub also sign on
Hey! Remember yesterday when we heard news that the Knight Rider adaptation was getting a new writer, and that we had hopes for The Hoff? Turns out he was already figuring out how to get a new motor, because he’s joined the cast of Joe Carnahan’s Stretch alongside Ray Liotta and Shaun Taub.
With Carnahan rustling up low-budget funds from Blumhouse Productions to get this one out of the garage, Stretch is shaping to be an action comedy with a great cast.
Patrick Wilson plays a limo driver nicknamed Stretch, who discovers that he’s only got enough time to work one more shift before he has to pay off a big debt to a bookie. Hoping to escape the consequences, he spots a chance when he’s assigned to drive around a reclusive billionaire (Chris Pine).
Despite the fact that the guy has some seriously weird appetites, Stretch thinks he could be his ticket to enough money to settle the debt. But given that Pine has other business in mind – most of it criminal – Stretch’s last ride really could be his final job.
Ed Helms, Brooklyn Decker and James Badge Dale are all aboard, and Taub has signed to play Wilson’s boss at the limo company. According to The Wrap’s sources, Hasselhoff and Liotta will cameo as themselves. You can see Carnahan's decidely NSFW tweet about Hasselhoff's potential dialogue here.
The cameras and the cars are about to start rolling and the film should hit US screens on March 21 next year.
