These are busy times for Daniel Radcliffe, who seems to book in a potential new film like other people book a haircut. In January, he was attached to a drama about Brooklyn Bridge engineer Washington Roebling. Screen International now brings word that he’s also on board for Dave Eggers adaptation **You Shall Know Our Velocity{ =nofollow}.

Wells Tower wrote the script based on Eggers’ book, which finds a pair of friends heading to Egypt to honour their dead pal’s wish that his ashes be scattered at the Pyramids. While there, they also make the decision to use an insurance pay-out to help people in need. Despite the sombre subject matter, the story is laced with Eggers’ typical wit, which will hopefully translate to the screen.

International Film Trust has brought the film to the Cannes Film Market to attract buyers and seems confident in what it has to offer: “Dave Eggers is a gifted storyteller and we are thrilled to be turning his hilarious yet poignant story of two best friends travelling the world into a feature film,” says producer and IFT co-founder Michael Benaroya in a statement.

With a shoot date pencilled in for early 2015, Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist director Peter Sollett is scheduled to call the shots, once he’s finished making Freeheld.

Radcliffe has Joe Hill adaptation Horns set for releaser on October 29, with Frankenstein headed our way on October 2, 2015. He’s also attached to** Tokyo Vice**, College Republicans and running drama Gold.
