Of The Blair Witch Project's two directors, we've heard more in recent years from Eduardo Sanchez than we have from Daniel Myrick. Sanchez has popped up in the immediate past with Lovely Molly and a contribution to** VHS2**, and has Bigfoot horror Exists in post-production. For Myrick's last directorial project you have to cast your mind back to 2008's The Objective, but we shouldn't have too much longer to wait for his next film. He's entered into a deal with Radar Pictures to make the "creepy indie thriller" **Under The Bed{
Based on a true story, the film sees a stalker "taking up residence underneath the bed of his female target, subtly manipulating her life until ultimately revealing his presence". It sounds like the stuff of urban legend, but a quick search reveals something like this did actually happen in Washington DC in 2006. Parking valet Carlo Castellanos-Feria gained access to his victim's keys, copied them, installed a camera in her bedroom and lived under her bed (with a change of clothes and his own power supply) for two days before he was discovered.
Indie house Radar's most recent movie was Riddick, and they were also behind Harmony Korine's Spring Breakers. Under The Bed will have a similar set-up, with Radar handling the film's domestic rights, but farming out distribution and overseas deals. Myrick wrote his own screenplay, and the plan is to get the film up and running as quickly as possible. Casting begins immediately, once we've all checked under our bed for creepy stalkers.
