Louis Leterrier's remake of Clash Of The Titans was decent fun, all things considered. And when you realise that 'all things considered' includes a less-than-brilliant last-minute 3D retrofit job, massive changes to the script during production and post that led to most of the Gods, including the legendary Danny Huston as Poseidon, getting the chop, and the worst tagline in recorded human history, decent fun is about the best Lulu - as The Stath calls him, and who are we to argue with The Stath about stupid nicknames? - could have hoped for.

But so far, probably the only people who've been clamouring for a Clash sequel work in the accounting department at Warner Bros. Yet that's exactly what was announced following the film's impressive global haul of $491 million. And, thanks to a tweet from those bods at Production Weekly, we now know that the sequel has been tentatively pencilled in for a start date of February, 2011.

So, presumably, we can expect to see the finished article sometime in early 2012. Or, if the pressure is really put on, it could even be a contender for a Christmas slot next year.

Better start getting in shape, Kraken - you've only got seven months to go.
