Christopher Nolan has been carrying out interviews in support of the DVD and Blu-ray release of The Dark Knight Rises, and in one of them The Playlist spoke to the Man Of Steel producer about, um,** Man Of Steel**.

But before you take a look at that, refresh your memory about just how Nolan got involved with the producing role for Zack Snyder's Superman story with this handy quote below:

"While (The Dark Knight Rises* co-writer*) David Goyer and I were putting together the story for another Batman film a few years ago we got stuck," remembers Nolan. "We were just idly chatting and he said, 'By the way, I think I know how you approach Superman,' and he told me his take on it. It was the first time I'd been able to conceive of how you address Superman in a modern context. It was very exciting."

Several years later and Nolan is offering a helping hand to Snyder, but is not – repeat,* not* – trying to do another Dark Knight tale with Supes: “I wouldn’t want people to think we're doing for Superman what we did for Batman.”

*“It's very much Zack’s film and I think people are going to love what he's done. I think it's really remarkable to take on that character. Superman is a completely different character than Batman, so you can't in anyway use the same template."

"But David Goyer had this, I thought, brilliant way to make Superman relatable and relevant for his audience. Zack has built on that and I think it's incredible what he's putting together. He's got a lot of finishing to do on that. Superman is the biggest comic book character of them all and he needs the biggest possible movie version which is what Zack's doing. It's really something.”

Something that will retain the Nolan touch, however, is the musical input from his longtime collaborator, Hans Zimmer. On the other side of the coin, 3D – something Nolan has never been a fan of – is being used in post production to make Henry Cavill really 'pop' in his blue and red duds.

Another teaser trailer is expected for **Man Of Steel **soon, but in the meantime all the world can make do with are the following two posters and the 88 second fishing-themed number below.
