He can act, he can make us laugh, and he even looks dapper as a traffic cop. Now Cuban Fury should give the multi-talented Chris O'Dowd the chance to show off his dance moves too.

O'Dowd joins Nick Frost to play rival salsa dancers who harbour years of bitterness towards each other until Frost's former teen prodigy attempts to launch a comeback. The twist? It was his old rival who wrecked his career in the first place. Before you can hum the first bars of 'Murder On The Dancefloor', it's salsageddon.

Now if you can wrap you head around any of that, your brain is less easily twizzled than ours. Not to say that the very idea of an O'Dowd/Frost dance-off doesn't fill Empire's heart with joy. It's safe to expect something closer to a salsified Blades Of Glory than Strictly Ballroom with British screenwriter Jon Brown, the man behind Misfits and the sorely underrated Fresh Meat, charged with delivering the funny in his big-screen debut.

Cuban Fury's production company, Nick Frost's own Big Talk Pictures, has yet to announce a director. Expect more news on that count, and a firm filming date, over the next few months.
