Dax Shepard has written and is directing and starring in the film, adapted from the 1970s Highway Patrol series. Shepard is playing motorcycle cop Jon Baker alongside Michael Pena as fellow officer (and best pal) Frank “Ponch” Poncherello. It’ll be Kaczmarek’s job to keep them in line, especially when they dig deep into a stolen car ring run by Vincent D’Onofrio’s bad guy.
The likes of Kristen Bell, Rosa Salazar, Adam Brody and Jessica McNamee are also aboard the film, which is now shooting in and around Los Angeles with Warner Bros. providing the backing and aiming for a 2016 release.
