While it looked for a long time as though it might never materialise, the Entourage Movie appeared fully back on track in October, when show creator Doug Ellin tweeted that it was a go. With the main cast finally locked in contracts, the rest of the ensemble is taking shape, with Billy Bob Thornton now aboard.

With Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Jerry Ferrara, Kevin Dillon and Jeremy Piven back as the actors, hustlers, hangers-on, power-players and pillocks, Ellin’s script (which he's directing) picks up six months after the seemingly triumphant end of the series, with Vincent Chase (Grenier) preparing to work on a new studio version of Dracula.

Thornton, one of only 16 people currently working as a name actor in Los Angeles not to have appeared on the series, is finally getting his card stamped as a billionaire cowboy-turned film financier floating cash for the movie who sends his troubled twentysomething son to Los Angeles to keep an eye on what happens.

Ellin is cranking the cameras even as we write this, so expect more casting announcements to arrive soon enough. The film should be in cinemas next year, assuming something doesn’t go comically wrong during shooting and the actors decide instead to go to a party in Santa Barbara.
