Last night, the British Independent Film Awards bestowed their prizes last night and it was an almost clean sweep for Control, Anton Corbijn's chronicle of the life of Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis.

At the tenth annual ceremony of the awards Control won five awards, including Best Film, Best Director and Best Newcomer for Sam Riley. Other winners included Judi Dench and Daniel Craig. The full list of winners is as follows:
