If Timothée Chalamet broke your heart last year in Call Me By Your Name, you’d better stock up tissues right now. He’s back in Beautiful Boy, ready to put you through the wringer as a meth-addicted teen, with Steve Carell as his dad desperate to get him clean and sober again through cycles of rehabilitation and relapse. The film has a new UK trailer, promising an emotionally-potent drama – watch it here.

The film is based on the dual memoirs of Nic Sheff and his dad David, offering each perspective on Nic's years of addiction, and is the English-language debut of Belgian director Felix van Groeningen. And following through on its subject of drug addiction and the strain it has on families and personal relationships, StudioCanal has announced a partnership with drug, alcohol and mental health charity Addaction to reach people affected by the film’s issues through social media, screenings, and more.

Beautiful Boy is coming to UK cinemas on 18 January 2019.
