You hear a lot of things in this job. Sometimes they're so wrong they're funny; some are just so wrong, they're really really wrong. The news that a biopic of Anna Nicole Smith's life is not only planned, but now definitely happening is wrong to the nth degree.
Now, we didn't know Anna Nicole Smith. Everything we ever saw of her suggested she was leaning towards batshit crazy and we weren't fans of her work (what was her work?). But making a movie of her life - which nobody gave a damn about when she was alive - is clearly shameless tabloid cash-in and pretty darn sick, since she's been dead about 20 minutes. What's to tell anyway? Switch on the news or pick up a red top and the whole story's there. Or watch old episodes of Dynasty. It's all the same, just with bigger boobs.
Anyway, an indie production that will cover her life from the age of seventeen until her death at the age of 39 will start shooting next week. And it has a leading lady in Willa Ford. Who is Willa Ford? A singer apparently, with blonde hair and big boobs. So, perfect! We hope everyone involved with this movie will take some time to think about what they've done and we hope they can sleep at night, warm and cosy in HELL.
