A darkly comic thriller from the pen of Luc Besson and From Paris With Love co-writer Adi Hasak might not seem like the natural way to bounce back from making This Means War, but McG disagrees. He’s just finished rounding out the untitled film's cast with Amber Heard and Connie Nielsen.

There must be something to the script, as Kevin Costner has been attached for a while to play Ethan Runner, a Secret Service agent who discovers that he’s dying. He agrees to go on one final mission before he carks it, and starts taking an experimental drug that could prolong his life. Unfortunately, it also gives him crazy hallucinations, which make his job that much more complicated.

That’s before he also decides he wants to reconnect with his estranged sprog (Hailee Steinfeld). Heard and Nielsen’s roles haven’t been specified, but we’re guessing one of them will be responsible for doling out the drugs.

McG is already shooting the movie in Paris and is next headed to Serbia, where he’s looking to wrap things up on April 22. There’s no release date set yet, though it’ll likely hit cinemas either later this year or early next.
