Admission Trailer Arrives
Tina Fey makes a discovery
Tina Fey is so funny and charming that you naturally root for her, as most people in the world where 30 Rock, Saturday Night Live or any of her films have been screened know. If there is a male equivalent, it’s probably Paul Rudd. Logically, combining the two in one film must surely be A Good Idea. Paul Weitz had that idea for Admission, and the resulting goodwill is palpable in the first trailer, which you can watch above.
Fey plays Portia Nathan, an assistant admissions officer at the prestigious Princeton College who's involved with faculty colleague Mark (Michael Sheen). She finds out that her boss, Clarence (Wallace Shawn) is retiring. And that she’ll have to compete for the top job with friend/colleague Corinne (Gloria Reuben).
But her life takes a more surprising turn when she agrees to visit am experimental New Hampshire school that is submitting students she’ll have to evaluate. She meets John Halsey (Rudd), the school’s co-founder, and finds a connection with him. And he introduces her to Jeremiah (Nat Wolff), a precocious college applicant who may just be the son she gave up when she was younger.
Adapted from Jean Hanff Korelitz’s 2009 novel by Karen Croner, Admission will be entering US cinemas in 2013, with the UK date still to be decided.
