The cast of 44 Inch Chest, the next film from Sexy Beast writers Louis Melles and David Scinto, is starting to read like a mini Who's Who of British actors of a certain age. Ray Winstone, Ian McShane, John Hurt and Tim Roth have already been cast, and today it's announced that Tom Wilkinson, Stephen Dillane, Joanne Whalley and Melvil Poupaud (who is actually French, so screws up the Brit thing) will join them.
Advert director Malcolm Venville makes his feature debut on this story of a British gangster (Ray Winstone) exacting revenge on his wife and her younger French lover. Though it's not stated in Variety's story, it would seem most likely that the wife and lover will be played by Whalley and Melvil respectively.
The film begins shooting in London this week.
