My Name Is Khan Review

Diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, Rizwan Khan (Shahrukh Khan), a Muslim from Mumbai, is detained by airport authorities in Los Angeles when his autism is mistaken for suspicious behaviour.

Universality is the word for director Karan Johar's big-hearted and sometimes funny look at the Muslim experience in pre- and post-9/11 USA. After a personal tragedy, Rizwan Khan (India uberstar Shahrukh Khan), diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, seeks out the President to tell him that he is not a terrorist. There's too much story (a later, Georgia-set act falters), but this mostly rides comfortably on Khan's superb performance, and his chemistry with leading lady Kajol.
