It has good intentions, but this melodramatic exposé of Polish provincial prejudice loses its way as an alcoholic priest becomes obsessed with a troubled youth. Scrupulously non-judgmental, it lacks the narrative control to match its grim authenticity.

Hoping to escape from his own chequered past, young priest Adam (Chyra) is assigned to a rural community in the Polish countryside to tend to a flock of young men from reform school backgrounds. Increasingly, though, he finds himself trapped by the temptations of the flesh.
