Original Title:

Mrs Winterbourne

) Ricki Lake takes on the role of a heavily pregnant white trash waitress who is mistaken for a society widow after being involved in a train wreck.

Taken in by her new adoptive family (headed by grandmother Shirley MacLaine) she discovers that her supposed dead hubby has a twin brother (Brendan Fraser) who — surprise! — happens to be single.

It's all a little too coincidental for comfort, and surprisingly short on laughs for a comedy, but nonetheless this is a light, well-meaning flick, improved considerably by Lake's scatty heroine. Despite having already lost 125 lbs, Ricki Lake was required to lose an additional 20 lbs before filming could begin.

Similar in plot to the Sandra Bullock vehicle While you were Sleeping (which makes for preferable viewing.)
