Monster Man Review

Image for Monster Man

Two losers on a road trip encounter a monster truck driven by a patchwork being they call 'Fuckface', who is responsible for various Satanic murders.

★★★★★

Uptight 'wuss' Eric Jungmann and overbearing 'a-hole' Justin Urich are perfecting their Michael Rapaport and Jack Black impersonations on a road trip when they're attacked by a monster truck driven by a patchwork being they call 'Fuckface', who is responsible for various Satanic murders. A hitchhiking temptress (Aimee Brooks) joins the boys, and they're then drawn into the monster's lair...

Derivative of everything from Duel to Jeepers Creepers, this is good, trashy horror fun with a streak of Jackass-style grossness, some leftfield surprises and the always-reliable sense that the middle of America is a sucking pit of desperation that's out to get you.

Many recent horrors have tapped into a '70s-style air of unease, but this is more in tune with the free-for-all, sick-humoured splatter of the '80s.
