Horror writer John Carradine is invited by vampire Vincent Price to spend an evening at a club for monsters. Between weird musical acts (UB40, B.A. Robertson), Price spins tales about various monsters — a “shadmock”, a vampire and a village of ghouls.
The last of the horror anthologies produced by Milton Subotsky, this is a ramshackle collection of ingredients adapted from stories by the underrated R. Chetwynd-Hayes, with good, ghoulish work from stalwarts like Patrick Magee, Britt Ekland and Lesley Dunlop (outstanding in the last, best story), plus Donald Pleasence off the leash as a vampire-hating policeman.
