Original Title:

The Monster Club

Horror writer John Carradine is invited by vampire Vincent Price to spend an evening at a club for monsters. Between weird musical acts (UB40, B.A. Robertson), Price spins tales about various monsters — a “shadmock”, a vampire and a village of ghouls.

The last of the horror anthologies produced by Milton Subotsky, this is a ramshackle collection of ingredients adapted from stories by the underrated R. Chetwynd-Hayes, with good, ghoulish work from stalwarts like Patrick Magee, Britt Ekland and Lesley Dunlop (outstanding in the last, best story), plus Donald Pleasence off the leash as a vampire-hating policeman.

It may not be as good as the material it's sourcing, but it's still fun to see so many faces from the genre in one place. Best to wond on that UB40 bit, though.
