Men With Brooms Review

Paul Gross stars as the leader of a recently reunited curling team from a small Canadian town. This offbeat comedy follows the team as they work through their respective life issues and struggle to win the championship for the sake of their late coach.

An uninspiring title, but perfectly fitting for this kooky story of a Canadian curling team.

Serving as director, writer and lead, Paul Gross - who enjoyed brief fame in the TV Mountie show Due South - imbues his film with that series' same languid Canadian charm.

If that phrase doesn't have you reaching for the eject button, and the idea of Leslie Nielsen as a curling coach doesn't fill you with dread, it will no doubt entertain.

For most it will prove too innocent and guileless to hate, but lacking in great laughs to truly enjoy.
