Recounting in flashback from his bijou residence in the clink, C. Sofia Shinas (The Crow) makes a glamorous femme fatale in Howells latest slice of directional wish-fulfilment, but frequent, shadily-lit sex and impossibly opulent coastal dwellings cannot disguise the basic absurdity of the whole sorry affair.
