Hors Satan Review

Image for Hors Satan

Roaming the sand dunes and soggy marshes next to the English Channel, a drifter (David Dewaele) brings a quiet, enigmatic power to the lives of the locals he encounters.

A typically stark provocation that uses bleak widescreen views to emphasise an outsider’s isolation and examine the moral dimensions of drifter David Dewaele’s brutally violent solution to friend Alexandra Lemaitre’s problems. Occasionally pretentious, but also perplexing and compelling.

Bleak and compelling.
