When aspiring hooligan Danny (Maza) falls in with banged-up hardcase Dex (Nevern), the pair set about re-establishing their firm as top boys.
The hoolie movie is so close to self-parody it’s almost spoof-proof. Unsurprisingly, this weirdly affectionate ladpooning plays like a live-action geezer cartoon, sketchily amusing but wise to the genre’s tribal bollocks. See it for Nick Nevern’s gormless yobfather: spot-on.
Does for football hooligans what Cockneys Vs. Zombies did for cockneys (and zombies). Very silly, occasionally very funny.
