Though rightly condemned as crude propaganda once the war ended and Hollywood started making guilt-ridden, bleeding-heart Vietnam films instead, John Wayne's inevitable sortie into South-east Asia has stuff going for it, not least its hilarious script, dressed up to sound like a Western, one grunt actually using the words, "It kinda sets a man to thinkin'." It looks sharp on DVD anyway.
